A police consultative group is to hold its last meeting as it is due to be replaced by a new neighbourhood safety board.

The Harrow police and community consultative group will meet on Monday March 24 from 7.30pm at the Harrow Borough Council Civic Centre.

The meeting will feature an update from Borough Commander Chief Supt Simon Ovens on the new policing model being rolled out across the capital.

There will also be information for people about the new neighbourhood safety board and its responsibilities.

From April the group will be replaced by the borough's safety board, which was announced at the end of last year.

The new body will include 12 members of the public, two councillors, two representatives from the youth parliament and member of staff from Victim Support.

It will be responsible for monitoring performance of the police, support the council's Neighbourhood Champions scheme and raising crime problems with police.
