A school is celebrating after being rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in all key areas.

Heathland School, in Eastcote Lane, South Harrow was inspected in February and received the news that it had received the education watchdog's highest rating last week.

It is the second time the school has acheived 'outstanding' status and inspectors commented pupils achieve ‘exceptionally well’ and show a ‘real enthusiasm for learning’.

Executive headteacher Chris Spruce said: “I am delighted that all the hard work of our passionate staff team and governors over several years has been recognised.

“I am very grateful for the support of parents and I am immensely proud of all our children. Now we aim to make both our schools even better.”

The school's federation is planning to expand its other school Whitefriars in Wealdstone to become one of the first three to 19 schools in the borough.

Earlier this year the federation received a letter from schools minister David Laws MP congratulating it on being in the top 250 primary schools in the whole country.
