Family members have appealed for the return of a necklace stolen in the robbery of a grandmother’s house.

Police were called to reports of a burglary in Morley Crescent East, Stanmore on Monday, February 3.

Officers believe somebody smashed the house's patio window between 6pm on Wednesday January 29 and 4pm on Monday February 3.

According to relatives of the elderly victim, who was away at the time the incident, the thieves ransacked the house and stole the necklace, which is of great sentimental value.

Family member Liz Robinson, who found the house after it was burgled, said: "When I walked in and saw the mess I just couldn’t believe it, I was just in shock.

“I think the whole family are devastated and it’s just horrible. If anyone knows anything about the necklace please get in contact with police and return it. That’s all we care about.

"What makes me angry is that they have violated her personal space and taking something so precious to her."

Officers say no arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

Anyone with any information about the burglary should contact with police.
