Primary school pupils were treated to a visit from an MP to learn about the role of their local parliamentarian.

MP Bob Blackman visited Key Stage Two pupils at Grange Primary School, in Welbeck Road, Harrow today.

He took an assembly with pupils to talk about his role in parliament and the job of an MP, went on a tour of the school and finally had a question and answer session with Year 6 pupils.

Headteacher Annette Szymaniak said: "It was a really successful visit and Mr Blackman gave us such a lot of time.

“As a school we really want to teach the importance of leadership and I think this really helped.”

Teacher Caroline Keating, who organised the visit, said: “I think all the children really enjoyed themselves and it all went really well.

“They have been learning about Parliament and it was a great chance to meet a real-life MP.”
