A college has teamed up with a women's football side as its official education partner.

Stanmore College, in Elm Park, will work with women's football club the London Bees, based at the Hive stadium in Camrose Avenue, Edgware.

The deal with the club aims to help develop women's football in the area and offer work experience opportunities to college students.

Stanmore College principal Jacqui Mace said: “Stanmore College is delighted to sponsor the London Bees.

“This exciting new ladies' football club, which will operate from top-class facilities, fits exactly with our vision to bring the very best employability skills to our students.

“Our students will have the opportunity to design the website, work in a variety of media, security and hospitality roles, build a business plan and more - all supervised by qualified staff.”

Tony Kleanthous, Chairman of the London Bees, said, “We are pleased to welcome Stanmore College on board as our official education partner.

“In Stanmore College we have a sponsor who not only values women’s football, but are also committed to enhancing the women’s game to a broader audience.

“We are very excited about the sponsorship and giving the opportunity to the students of Stanmore College to gain both work and educational opportunities with The London Bees and at The Hive.”
