Glebe Primary School, Kenton, awarded by prestigious education college the Institute of Education
A school has been recognised for its work improving standards and helping pupils who speak English as a second language.
Glebe Primary School, in Glebe Avenue, Kenton, is one of 22 given the title of Specialist Partner by the Institute of Education (IoE).
The school was recognised for its research and development work with teachers supporting pupils for whom English is a second language.
Headteacher Donna Barratt said it had helped close gaps in achievement for some pupils.
She added: “We greatly value working in partnership with the IoE in bespoke research and development projects.
“Being designated a Specialist Partner shows our commitment to working together in a deeper, more sustained way to achieve the best possible outcomes for teachers, children and young people.”
The IOE, which is a college of the University of London, works with more than 1,000 schools across the capital.
