Work on a new Muslim community centre costing £8million is set to begin soon.
The new Salaam Centre will be built on the site of the North Harrow Assembly Hall, Station Road, and will include fitness area, sports hall, multimedia room, prayer hall and restaurant.
On Sunday, January 19, work on the new building for the Muslim community will officially begin.
Project leader Dr Nizar Merali said: "I really think this project sets the standard for the future."
"We are working to provide an environment where we will enable warmth, thought and creativity through the open interaction of users of The Salaam Centre."
