The last stages of work on the regeneration of a town centre is nearing completion which the council hopes will attract more shoppers to the area.
The work has been taking place for the past two years along St Anns Road and has included new paving, benches and the removal of street clutter like phone boxes.
The work, which has also included the planting of new trees, is expected to be completed by March.
The project regenerating the town centre has been helped by the £1.8 million from the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund.
Cabinet member for regeneration Cllr Stephen Greek said: “We are now nearing the end of this huge regeneration project, which will make Harrow town centre a cleaner, safer and more inviting place to visit.
“Already the town centre looks good and feels busy and hopefully with these finishing touches it will continue to go from strength to strength.
“We are all grateful for the hard work that has gone into designing and implementing this scheme, and to the Mayor of London for showing such support for Harrow.”
