Nowadays you can watch television on 3D television sets and plasma screens, on the internet, or sneakily on your phone.

But some families in Harrow are still clinging onto the good old days by watching their favourite shows in black and white.

According to figures released by TV Licensing, 29 people in Harrow town black and white television licences.

Despite it being nearly 48 years since the first colour programme was broadcast, 11,500 homes nationwide still retain the old licences.

The cost of a black and white TV licence is £49 compared to £145.50 for a colour one.
