A charity which helps and supports people addicted to drugs and alcohol has received a cash boost from the Mayor of London.
Westminster Drug Project (WDP) has been given the money provide a new programme for offenders who have both substance misuse and mental health issues.
The charity, which operates in Harrow and Brent, supports people who have previously offended and have drug or alcohol problems.
The four-year funding from Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) will go towards providing support to those with a duel diagnosis of addiction and mental health problems.
WDP hopes the £101,700 a year grant will allow it to develop a structured programme to reach people who need it most and increase recovery rates.
