People looking for a challenge in the New Year are being given the chance to raise money for a hospice charity.

St Luke’s Hospice is calling for volunteers to take part in the Great Indoors Challenge this January.

Those taking part will be get sponsored to swim the channel, run a marathon or row the length of the Thames from the comfort of their own local gym.

People can set their own target and the amount of time they need to complete it to raise money for the hospice, which cares for people from Harrow and Brent.

Another possible challenge could be climbing 1,344 metres on a step machine, the equivalent of reaching the top of Ben Nevis.
