The driver of a car who died following a high speed crash which killed two others has been named.

Jawad Qureshi, 28, of Headstone Drive, was driving a Subaru Impreza on the A406 North Circular when it crashed into a lorry shortly after midnight on Monday December 23.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.25am to reports of a collision.

Mr Qureshi and two passengers, Toheed Robani, 34, and Haider Qureshi, 28, died.

Police investigating the crash believe the Subaru was travelling westbound when it hit the central reservation before colliding with the lorry travelling eastbound and then catching fire.

Following a post-mortem examination at Haringey Mortuary the cause of death for Jawad and Haider Qureshi was given as multiple injuries.

The cause of Toheed Robani's death was given as head injuries.

Two men who were driving a Vauxhall Astra which was also involved in the collision were taken to hospital with minor injuries and were later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

They have both been bailed to reappear in late February.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash and are calling for any witnesses to come forward.
