Dunkin' Donuts opens in Harrow
Hundreds of people flocked to the official opening of first Dunkin’ Donuts coffee shop in the UK today.
The American chain returned to the capital after a 20-year absence, with its new shop in St Ann's Road the first of 50 planned across north and east London.
Although the official opening took place today, the restaurant opened its doors on Saturday, when it made £574 for charity, with the shop and the company each donating £1 to St Luke's Hospice in Kenton for every doughnut sold.
The snack food restaurant held a party today with activities for customers and live entertainment.
Jim Johnson, managing director for the UK Dunkin’ brand, said: “It’s nice that as a local company, we can support local charities too.
“St Luke's does a great job in trying to better people’s lives.
“The grand opening was fantastic. It was full of fun – that’s what we’re all about.”
