Dog owners benefit from microchipping event
Dog owners from across the borough were given peace of mind at a free dog chipping event.
Harrow Borough Council organised the day in collaboration with The Dogs Trust last week at the Marsh Road Communal Hall in Pinner.
Owners took their dogs along to the event to get them microchipped, which will mean their animals can be identified if they ever go missing.
Last year more than 200 dogs were reported missing or picked up in Harrow last year and soon it will become law for dog owners to have their pets microchipped.
Cabinet member for housing Cllr Barry Macleod-Cullinane, who attended the event, says he hopes the free event will mean dog owners will avoid the heart ache of not being able to trace their dog.
The council says it plans to hold more chipping events in other parts of the borough soon.
