Conservative candidate announced for Harrow-on-the-Hill by-election
The Conservative party candidate for a by-election next month has been announced.
The Harrow West Conservative Association has announced it has selected Stephen Lewis to stand in the Harrow-on-the-Hill by-election.
Earlier this week an election date for the Harrow Borough Council seat, will take place on Thursday November 7.
Mr Lewis has been a member of the Harrow-on-the-Hill Action Team since April 2013 and has worked closely with councillor Simon Williams.
Chris Baxter, deputy chairman of the association, said: "Having campaigned alongside Stephen Lewis over the past year I know how passionate he is about helping local people and championing residents’ interests.
“He would make an excellent addition to Harrow Council and I will be proud to campaign for him during this by-election.”
Mr Lewis has lived in Harrow for ten years and in his time has been a member of the Safer Neighbourhood Team Ward Panel.
Yesterday Harrow Labour announced it had selected Glen Hearnden for the election next month which was brought about with the resignation of councillor Ann Gate, who will be leaving the area.
