Kenton supermarket manager wins national award
A supermarket manager has won a prestigious award at a national prize giving ceremony.
Sharon Dixon, the online grocery manager at the Kenton branch of Sainsbury’s, was crowned ‘Manager of the Year’ at the retailer's annual conference.
The award recognises managers who lead by example and are seen as inspiration by their team.
She said: "It’s quite overwhelming to receive an award and be recognised for a job that I love doing, and I still can’t believe it.
“I pride myself on providing a first class service to my customers, and am thrilled to receive the award on behalf of my team who are at the heart of everything I do.”
Ms Dixon has worked for the company for 25 years and has worked at the Kenton branch for the last nine.
Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King said: “I am delighted to give Sharon her award and celebrate a manager who lives our values every day, putting customers and colleagues at the heart of everything we do.
“It is a very proud day for her and I am glad we were able to present her award in front of 5,000 of her colleagues.”
