A nursery school is celebrating a glowing Ofsted report after it was given the inspection body's highest rating.

Smileytotz, Stonegrove Gardens, Edgware, was rated 'outstanding' for the second time in a row in its latest inspection.

Owner Bina Gosrani hailed the achievement “fantastic” as the nursery has only been opened for five years.

She said: “It’s wonderful, we really are proud. We put so much effort into this and now all we want to do is celebrate.

“We do our best to offer the most memorable first-time learning experience for children and it’s always good to hear you’re doing your job properly.

“Everyone here has worked so hard to make sure we provide a very high standard of care so I feel we really deserve this.”

Inspectors praised the way the children, who are aged 18 months to four, are confident, secure and happy in the setting.

It also noted the way teachers are extremely “kind and sensitive” to the children, who “respond to staff with delight”.

The report added: “Children play, learn and develop in an inspirational environment where they take part in exciting, fun and challenging activities.

“The staff plan rich and varied learning experiences for the children. The children are highly motivated and very eager to join in with the planned activities.

“Staff also show great skill in supporting the children's communication and language.”
