Harrow Council supports Stoptober
Smokers are being urged to kick the habit for a month as part of the Stoptober campaign.
The scheme, supported by Harrow Borough Council, encourages people to give up smoking for 28 days during October.
In Harrow, 14.6 per cent of adults smoke but statistics show quitting for 28 days can increase a person's life by up to one week.
Pharmacies across the borough offer free and confidential support on how to stop smoking with a trained advisor and support with withdrawal symptoms.
To contact the Harrow Stop Smoking service, call 020 8420 9536 or call in to any pharmacy with the Smokefree logo in the window.
