Braziers Dairy Farm owners in Kenton Lane given ultimatum by Harrow Council planning bosses over housing development
A historic former dairy farm looks set to be converted into homes after councillors gave provisional approval for the plans last night.
Owners of Braziers Farm, in Kenton Lane, want to build more than 30 new homes and convert some of the Grade-II listed buildings on the site.
But councillors ordered they must agree to pay more than £470,000 in cash for community projects, infrastructure and services to offset the impact of the development before building can begin.
English Heritage opposed the proposals for the family-owned farm, which was built in 1908 and designed by agricultural revolutionaries William Loudon and Robert Abraham.
But members of Harrow Council’s planning committee voted to approve the plans if the owners agree to the surcharges by September 30.
