Bentley Priory Museum, in Stanmore, prepares for Royal opening with The Prince of Wales
A museum marking the sacrifice of ‘the few’ during the Battle of Britain is preparing for its Royal opening today.
Bentley Priory Museum, in Stanmore, will be opened by the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall today.
The Priory played a pivotal role in the Battle of Britain during the Second World War and was where Air Chief Marshal Dowding planned the defence of the country.
His Royal Highness is patron of Bentley Priory Battle of Britain Trust which has overseen the creation and opening of the museum for the last eight years.
During the opening the Prince and the Duchess will meet with veterans of the Battle of Britain and members of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force who worked at the Priory during the war.
