People are big invited to a family fun day to help raise money for charity in the battle against cancer.

On Saturday hundreds of people will be making their way to Bannister Sports Centre, in Uxbridge Road, for the Relay for Life, in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The day is Harrow’s largest community event in aid of the charity and will start from 12.30pm till 5pm.

The Relay for Life is the culmination of a year’s worth of fundraising by volunteers and is a celebration for cancer survivors and their families.

On Saturday September 7 there will be several activities for people to enjoy, including a perfromance from the Steelasophical Steel Band, bouncy castle and miniature steam train rides.

Later in the evening following the family fun day there will be a Candle of Hope Ceremony where people will be able to dedicate a candle to a loved one in their memory.

The day’s events are free and open to all the family.
