Barnet FC plans for the Hive Stadium to be heard next week
Plans for Barnet FC’s Hive stadium are due to go before councillors next week after a decision was deferred due to a mistake by planning officers.
Barnet FC submitted plans for alterations to work at the Camrose Avenue stadium, including raising the height of floodlighting, an increase in the height and capacity of the west stand and a reduction in capacity of standing areas.
A decision on the plans is due to be made by members of Harrow Borough Council’s planning committee on Tuesday, September 3, at 6.30pm at the Harrow Civic Centre, in Station Road.
The decision was due to be made by the committee earlier this month, however the council's head of planning asked councillors to defer its decision at the last minute.
He admitted planning officers had not carried out a key part of the planning process to establish whether or not an environmental impact assessment was required.
After the meeting Stephen Kelly, Harrow Council’s divisional director for planning, apologised for the delayed decision over the application.
Officers had recommended the plans be refused he plans due to lack of information from the applicant, Barnet FC, about the impact of light from the new higher floodlights.
