Historic train to steam into Harrow
A newly restored steam locomotive which used to run on the rails of the Metropolitan line will be coming back to Harrow next week.
London Transport Museum’s newly restored Metropolitan steam Locomotive No.1 will be travelling from Amersham to Harrow-on-the-Hill on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8.
The engine was built to work on the Metropolitan Railway in 1898 and worked for decades before it was taken out of service in 1963.
Earlier this year the museum held a similar event along with other throughout the whole year to celebrate 150 years of the Underground.
