Repairs to a platform at an underground station are set to begin next week.

Transport for London will be carrying out the work on one of the platforms Rayners Lane underground station from Tuesday night.

Work repairing steel pillars supporting the platform will be carried out during the night five nights a week for the next five weeks.

A spokeswoman for TfL said “Some of the platform supports at Rayners Lane station are in need of repair. The platform is supported by steel beams on concrete plinths and we need to repair the beams and some of the plinths.

“However due to the nature of the work this can only be done when trains aren't running. We have informed residents about the work, which is expected to take five weeks to complete.

“The majority of the work is not expected to cause a disturbance although some noise is to be expected during preparatory works.

“We will be working with our contractor to ensure that any noise is minimised.”
