Hundreds enjoy Rayners Lane summer fun day
Hundreds of people enjoyed a family fun day held to help create community spirit.
People living in and around Rayners Lane attended the community fun day at The Beacon Centre in Scott Crescent on Saturday.
The day of events included dance performances, a football competition and a bouncy castle and was organised by housing provider Home Group, which is building the final phase of 800 new homes as part of £140million regeneration in the area.
A highlight was a performance from the of Harrow’s Ignite street dance crew who entertained families on the day.
Richard Glaister of Home Group said: “We’re really pleased that so many people came to the summer fun day.
“While all the activities were taking place we were blessed with sunshine and it only started to rain as we were packing up for the day.
“It was a chance for neighbours to get to know each other and develop a real sense of community. Everyone we spoke with said they had a really enjoyable time.”
