Early-hours drinking restriction proposals for Stanmore to be discussed tonight
Councillors are due to decide on proposals to ban early-hours drinking over the Christmas period this evening.
Harrow Police have applied for a restriction order to prevent bars and supermarkets in Stanmore from selling alcohol after 2am between November and January.
The application has come after complaints from people living in the area of noise, fighting, and drunken behaviour from customers during last year’s festive period.
A special meeting of the licensing committee will meet this evening to discuss the plans for the Early Morning Restriction Order for the area surrounding the junction of Stanmore Hill, Church Road and London Road.
The restrictions would prevent 21 licensed premises in the area, including pubs and supermarkets, from selling alcohol after 2am.
