Harrow Borough Council tenants given housing improvement scheme preview
People living in council properties were given a sneak preview of the upgrades available for their homes as part of a housing improvement scheme.
Tenants of Harrow Borough Council properties were given a chance to see examples of new bathrooms, kitchens and boilers as part of an upgrade of the authority’s housing stock.
Hundreds of units across the borough are set to be replaced in the scheme to improve homes and make them more environmentally friendly.
One of the council’s main focus is the installation of new gas boilers and central heating systems which are highly energy efficient and could save people up to a third off their heating bills.
This year the council will be spending nearly £2.5million on housing improvement in homes which are in greatest need with work estimated to be completed by March next year.
