Students from a school in Edgware will be taking part in competition to find the next top young entrepreneur in London.

Two groups of pupils for the North London Collegiate School, in Canons Drive, will be taking part in the West London heat of the HSBC Young Enterprise Innovation Awards at the University of West London.

It will see eight teams of 16 to 18-year-olds showcasing start-up companies they have created themselves.

The pupils' Smug Company and Brain Food will be up against firms created by students from the boroughs of Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow and Hillingdon.

Prizes will be awarded for the best trade stand, best presentation, best business report, runner-up and overall winner.

The winners of the west London heat will be entered into the London regional finals and go head-to-head with other winning teams from across the city.

The national winners will represent Young Enterprise in the European Finals.
