A club for deaf people from the Asian community hosted a party for members to find out more about Easter.

The Harrow Asian Deaf Club’s Easter party included speakers talking about the importance of Easter to Christians and Passover to the Jewish faith.

Also at the event on Saturday there was a presentation on deaf education and how to inspire deaf people to consider studying at university.

Club president Asif Iqbal MBE said: "We were delighted to have a fantastic turnout from all sections of the community who came together to celebrate our event.

“It was also good to see people enjoying themselves, learning about the meaning of Easter and Passover and expanding their knowledge of each other’s culture and communities.

“The event provides opportunity for everyone to learn and share information and most importantly, be part of it and be fully informed.”

The Mayor and Mayoress of Harrow attended the event and the pair were thanked by the club for all their visits to the centre during the past 12 months.
