Phuvahaan Anantharajah has been jailed for eight years
A thief from Wembley who was among a gang who robbed a man and then burgled his home has been jailed for eight years.
Phuvahaan Anantharajah, 24, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court to robbery and aggravated burglary.
Mr Anantharajah and three other men robbed a 24-year-old man at gunpoint in Eagle Road, Wembley on December 29 at around 5pm.
They pointed a pistol at his stomach, stole his bank card and demanded his pin number.
The victim gave them the number and two of the criminals walked off but came back 15 minutes later angry that there was no money in the account.
They then demanded to go and search the victim’s home address which they got from his driving licence so they could burgle the house.
The police identified Mr Anantharajah as one of the robbers but he fled the UK before he could be arrested.
The Metropolitan Police traced him to Germany where he was detained by German officers last July.
He was extradited to the UK on September 20 of last year to face charges of robbery, aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Mr Anantharajah appeared in court and was sentenced on the March 14.
