A hearing expert from Rayners Lane who is preparing to take on the London Marathon in aid of research into hearing loss has already raised more than £2,500.

Bhavisha Parmar, who works at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospital, hosted a fundraising music concert at the Trinity, in Station Road, on Wednesday March 6 where she raised £500 for Deaf Research UK.

More than 80 people attended “Acoustic Unchained” which was organised by Ms Parmar’s friend James Selvadurai.

Mr Selvadurai performed at the acoustic event along with local musicians Christopher Anousis, Mick Warwick and Olly Chamberlain.

He said: “The event was an amazing success and we are very proud to have raised so much money for a great cause."

The concert Ms Parmar's total her total to £2575.95 but she hopes to hit her target of £3,000 when she takes on the 26.2-mile race in April wearing a ‘Super-Hear-O” outfit.

Last week Ms Parmar ran the Silverstone half marathon – also in costume – in two hours and 14 minutes.
