Members of a Harrow group for deaf people have been given a guided tour of Parliament in recognition of their voluntary work.

The committee and volunteers of the Harrow Asian Deaf Club (HADC) were invited to attend a reception in Westminster by Harrow West MP Gareth Thomas last Friday.

Mr Thomas gave a speech and used basic sign language to thank the members.

He said the club had gone from strength to strength over the years and he was happy to recognise the contribution they have made to Harrow.

Asif Iqbal, president of HADC, said: “The quality of the volunteering work is excellent and it was very heart-warming and rewarding to see the group getting the recognition they deserved for their achievements.”

Wonderful to see they have been recognised in Parliament as well.Well done! This is one organisation that is going places and has worked very hard to achieve so much.Asif Iqbal has been good enough to provide volunteers even at our HPCCG meeting to facilitate those with impaired hearing.Very grateful for the support .

Wish you the very best of luck.
