Students Alexsandra, Gabriele, Mateusz and Christopher of St. George's Primary School dressed up as their favourite fictional characters for World Book Day
The Tin Man and Harry Potter sat down for classes at a Sudbury Hill school last week.
As part of World Book Day, children from St George's Catholic Primary School came into school in fancy dress as characters from their favourite books.
Both pupils and teachers dressed up as characters including witches, characters from Jacqueline Wilson’s children’s novels and Mr Men.
The school’s 460 students had to bring in the book from which their character is from, and also received a £1 book voucher in a special assembly.
Sheena Connolly, a Year Five teacher who dressed up as Little Miss Tidy, said: “It has been really fantastic.
“It’s great to encourage children to pick up and read a book they have never heard of before."
