Abu Qatada is "a dangerous man" says Home Secretary Theresa May

Government makes new bid to deport Abu Qatada Government makes new bid to deport Abu Qatada

The government has started a new bid to get terror suspect Abu Qatada deported today – days after he was arrested for breaching his bail conditions.

Three Court of Appeal judges led by Lord Dyson, the Master of the Rolls, will hear the challenge led by Home Secretary Theresa May.

In November last year, the Special Immigration Appeals Commission decided Mr Qatada could not lawfully be deported to Jordan, where he was convicted of terror charges in his absence in 1999.

The judges ruled there was a danger that evidence said to have been obtained by torture could be used against him in a retrial in Jordan.

The Home Secretary described the Harrow resident as "a dangerous man, a suspected terrorist, who is accused of serious crime in his home country of Jordan".

The 52-year old, once described as Osama Bin Laden’s right-hand man in Europe, was led away from his north London home on Friday after a police raided his address in the borough.

The terror suspect was returned to Belmarsh prison over fears he was trying to communicate with associates and is due to remain in custody until a further bail hearing on March 21.

A senior judge revoked bail in an emergency hearing after the raid on his home.

He said there was ‘strong evidence’ the Islamist cleric had breached the strict bail terms by allowing mobile phones to be switched on at his home or letting electronic storage devices such as memory sticks be brought inside.

The Islamist cleric is under 24-hour watch which costs the taxpayer £100,000 a week and is electronically tagged between 4pm and 8am.

He has used human rights laws to fight deportation for several years, running up a legal bill unofficially estimated at more than £500,000.

Mr Qatada began renting a £450,000 three-bedroom house in Harrow borough last December following complaints his previous home in Wembley was not big enough.

Unbelievable! His wants are catered for to the nth degree and he plots to blow up the very taxpayers who are funding his lifestyle.

Can we send a bill to the Jordanian authorities for the cost of his upkeep? I suppose we will be paying the cost of his flight to Jordan. How about he swims back to Jordan that should help with his weight problem.

And here's the REALLY sick bit. While we bend over backwards pandering to this person's "human rights", others, REAL British Citizens have NO RIGHTS as they are spirited away to rot with no evidence needed, under the European Arrest Warrant or Blair's vile one-sided Extradition Pact with the USA.

I saw Qattada, bold as brass, walking along a street near my home, a douole of weeks ago. This man calls his neighbours "racist". Perhaps he should look in the mirror.

He complains that the house is "too small". SIMPLE, use a condom.

He carps that the house is dirty. So her's a helpful hint. Take some time off from complaining, carping, moaning, condemning the "khuffar" and all and sundry and LEARN TO USE A HOOVER, and a DUSTER.

And WE are paying for all of this. Do as the French do, stick him and his brood on a plane and worry about the Euro-Courts and others after the event, better yet, as the French do, ignore them.

jackdaw, why bill Jordan? They want the guy, they are not the cause of him not being extradited. We know where that lies

Actually if they finally get him on a plane back to Jordan and we pay for it, I reckon it will be the best bit of money ever spent!

Im pleased to say that the MI5 cars, police cars and numerous MI5 agents / police officers are no longer outside Abu's house . Hopefully they can now be released to follow some more terrorists rather than being very expensive 'nannies' sitting outside Abu's house bored senseless 24/7.

I am not getting too excited yet as I already have concerns about whether this government has the guts to do what is right and deport this slimey good for nothing toad. However, if Human Rights laws are anything to go by, I would second guess that because his children are in education here, and " settled" they will not be deported with him. That being the case, we will no doubt have to fund a change of name, and a better life for this children and his wife. yes, and ofcourse, the apple doesnt fall too far from the tree so we will no dount be paying to nurture his children to becoming terrorists in the future. Yes, welcome to England where the only people without any rights are the ones who work hard and pay their taxes!!

Reality bites! The outpouring of so much outrage from our locals shows how strongly we feel about this man.
It's not about the government having the guts to deport him or any such thing but the LAW of this land which we ALLare obliged to obey---however frustrating this may be.

Of course, the Home Secretary is doing her best to effect whatever is legally permitted to get shot of him. However, the shocking truth is we have given so much of our power away to those in Brussels that wresting some of it back is going to be jolly difficult.

We definitely don't deserve to feel cheated of our hard-earned monies or unsafe in our own homes and keep on paying through our nose for those who openly preach hatred for all of us.Sooner we see him go the better!

Jeremy Zeid is right. We should not worry about the Eurocrats and just bung this terrorist and his benefit scrounging family on a plane to Jordan. We can deal with the fallout later - just like the French do!. There is a reason why people choose to come to the U.K rather than France.

Sorry Sonoo, but it still doesn't address the point I made that an Alien who not only HATES US, but encourages other to do likewise, gets all of the freebies, the "rights" and protection at our expense, while our own people, for example Christopher Tappin, on no real evidence, rots in an American jail and to hell with his "rights".

The EAW (European Arrest Warrant) that we are signing up to, that WE will obey to the nth degree, selling our our citizens, while our "partners" ignore it, means that FOREIGN police can abduct you at 3am, with complete immunity should they happen to kill or injure you or your family or destroy YOUR private property, with NO prima Facae evidence, and with the collusion of our own SPINELESS politicians, officials and politicised plods.

So much for the UNREPEALABLE Act of Supremacy 1559, and the English Bill of Rights 1689 and the statements therein regarding foreign interference.
