He's supposed to be the kind of man you'd trust with your money, but a Kenton man will be locked up until he can secure bail for his release.

Financial advisor Jatish Pindolia of Paulhan Road, Kenton, will be behind bars at Wealdstone Police Station on March 22 until people raise £1,000 of ‘bail’ money for St Luke’s Hospice.

The inspiration for his fundraising lies in the hospice's care for a relative.

Mr Pindolia said: “My aunt passed away and she spent her final days at St Luke’s Hospice, so I wanted to raise some money for the amazing work they do.

“I have already raised £600 at work and through friends and I’m confident that I will hit my target of £1,000.”

Ten people have signed up to take part in this event including Harrow Council leader Cllr Thaya Idaikkadar.

Participants will be summoned to the police station on the day and be booked into a cell by a custody sergeant, to be released once they raise their bail money.

Mr Pindolia added: “It’s my first time doing anything for charity and it will be my first time in jail.

“I just hope that I’m never in there for real.”
