Remember this is Local Politics and not National Politics.
You need to vote for the candidate that is best going to protect the interests of the local people.
Anyone who has read all the available literature will come to the same conclussion - the only party truely dedicated to local issues is UKIP. They have no axe to grind or party line to toe, they just want the best for the residents.
Vote UKIP.

HarrowRes in total agreement with you! I am fed up with the behaviour, conduct, and having to toe the party/council line of most of our local Cllrs. The dealings I have had with Cllrs in the past have shown them to be incompetent, and in it for themselves.

Is it not the case that UKIP was wiped out in 2010 West Harrow council elections – had only 265 votes?

harrowKing - 3 years is a long time in politics, certainly long enough to realise that voting Labour was a waste of a vote.
Perhaps it's now time to vote for the only candidate that will actually stand up for the local community and tackle local issues head on.

Write that ONCE MORE Pravin Shah of the Harrow Council for inJustice and you will end up paying off my mortgae and a considerable sum into my pension pot. DO YOU UNDERSTAND???

In your "pursuit of Justice" do yu actually do any research, or is it verbal diarrhoea time? Which is it Mr Shah???

I suggest that what you do, is go to the www.ukip.org website and read the Terms and Conditions for membership, where precious membership of the BNP, EDL or National Front, BARS YOU FROM MEMBERSHIP. Likewise, those expressing views reflected by those groups, and if I have my way also of the Fascist Left the SWP and UAF, youare barred or will have your membership terminated.

No such conditions exist for ANY of the other Parties.

Having worked for decades eradicating racism and hatred and having experienced it first hand several times, do you think I would join any such organization.

Fortunately, people are more likely to believ me, than a bitter twisted man whose sole purpose seems to be to mount personal attack, libels and slanders and fore which, one day, you and the schizoid-man will pay heavily.

It is instructive tha tthe LEFT killed far more people than the disgusting Right, but as they were our "allies" and friends of Labour, nowt said.

Grow up Mr Shah, you are looking increasingly isolated and pathetic. perhaps take up photography like fellow ranter Davidx/harrowKing/Cl

I am disappointed to note that all comments on the article on the £65,000 secreta llowance have been taken down and on the same story under a different headline no further comments will be added. What a shame that the true glory of our finest Councillors fighting like alley cats has been swept under the carpet. I have stated before, and I will state again, Harrrow Times is The council's puppet and just one nod from Head office at the Civic Centre and whooosh all negative comments about the council disappear. Given the West Harrow election is tomorrow,it would have helped a few people in their voting if they could see the quality of debating amongst Councillors in Harrow.

Jeremy BULLY HYPOCRITE Zaid, you and your accomplices under various masks have been badly exposed. Answer the question about the BNP connection?

Can you tell me why it is that you and your male and female Tory friends have been targeting black and Asians in and outside the civic centre, including Cllrs Navin and Rekha Shah, Cllr Asante, Cllr Idaikkadar, Sonoo Mulkani and so on!

Considering the track record of your failures at the elections, you knew you have no hope of winning West Harrow seat! The only logical conclusion about your interest in this by-election is that you obliged the sinking opposition leadership by taking part in a three-prong attack on Labour!

Harrow Rani, I hope you are not one of the politicians writing on assumed name. If you are then you know that Harrow Times is a puppet of the Harrow Tory Group as you will see from history most published letters and news release is from the Tory Group in particular the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Tory Group. If you are not then one thing you need to understand, you should not believe everything you read. Political parties do propaganda which may not be true

Nothing on the article of £65000 has been proved as it was accusation by the Tories who have not produced alternative budget or are capable of doing so this time. Let's see what happens on 28/02/2013.

Pravin I am not a politician, I am just a very disgruntled Harrow resident who has strong opinions on the way our council is being run. I had criticisms of the previous administration and am certainly not a political animal. However, I do have concerns about the manner in which Councillors have portrayed themslves regarding the £65,000 secret allowances. Each and every comment has been accusatory and darn right nasty. Can you blame people like me for jumping in and having our say? As Councillors you have a moral obligation to conduct yourselves in a professional manner irrespective of what party you represent. As my name probably shows, I am Asian and I abhor aything to do with anything to do with BNP or any other far right organisation. However, villifying Mr Zeid does not make you and your fellow Councillors any more respectable in my view. If you have the evidence, present it to the right people in the right way. Unleasing such vitriol does not benefit you or the current administration. Remember, some of the local residents do read these comments and will form opinions on each and every Councillor who comments. From purely a PR point of view, it is very damaging for your party. In terms of the election today, I sincerely hope that the right person wins

A joke for the voters of West Harrow.

Welcome to Heaven," St. Peter says to the newly arrived politician. "Before you settle in, you must spend one day in Hell and one in Heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down to Hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is the clubhouse with all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress.
They greet him, hug him, and reminisce about the good times they had getting rich at expense of the people. They play golf and dine on lobster and caviar. The devil is also there, a very friendly guy who laughs and tells jokes.

It is time to go. Everyone waves while the elevator rises. The elevator goes up and the door reopens on Heaven, where St. Peter is waiting for him. Now it's time to visit Heaven.
24 hours pass with the politician joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well then, you've spent a day in Hell and another in Heaven. Now choose your eternity."
Saint Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes back down to hell. The doors of the elevator open and he is in the middle of Harrow which is covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags. The devil comes over to him and grins menacingly.

"I don't understand," stammers the politician. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and club and we ate lobster and caviar and had a great time. Now all there is a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable."

The Devil looks at him, smiles and says, "Yesterday we were campaigning. Today you voted for us!"

The politician reflects for a minute, then answers, "Well, Heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in Hell."

I am British who has all the rights to make sure that the local authority and the government act in a civil and honest way. They need to provide service for all. We all are born equal but are different and that's how we should treat others, different but equal.

Mr Zeid has made many racist comments in many of his comments. He personally started to attack me with name calling. He also attacked and called other Black And Asian residents uncalled names. If he can make allegations then he should be able to take it. However he is a BULLY & a HYPOCRITE.

It has been indicated to me that Pravin Shah, Davidx and harrowKing are one and the same.

This person's behaviour is a disgrace as are his accusations, the latter being untrue, as anyone who knows me will attest, even from other parties.

Anything this person writes, although hurtful, is rubbish, pure vitriol, but I wouldn't have it censored for the world, as if it's removed. people think that it doesn't exist. Out of sight, out of mind and all that.

I am just taking a break from the campaign trail, behaviour has been good natured and fair.

Anyway... So this man goes to see his doctor for the umpteenth time, because he has been getting blinding headaches for years.

He's had every test under the sun but no-one can find the cause of his headaches. Pills, potions, therapy, nothing has worked and he is desperate.

Finall the Doctor says, "I give up, I can't find a problem. All tests say you are healthy".

The man says, "What can I do?"

The Doctor says, "Ther is ONE last resort, it's experimental, but it seems to work."

The man says "Anything, please, anything to get rid of the constant pain."

"OK" say the Doctor, "The procedure requires the rwmoval of your testicles, as they place a pressure at the base of the spine which causes reflexive pains in the form of blinding headaches."

"Look", says the man, "I am middle aged, not starting a family or anything, and it won't be any great sacrifice just so long as it gets rid of this constant pain. I'm desperate."

To cut a long story short, the Doctor refers him to the hospital, where they carry out the procedure.

When he wakes from the anaesthesia, he cannot believe it. For the first time in decades, no pain.

After a couple of days he leaves hospital to a pain free life, He is overjoyed.

One day feeling so much better he stumbles across a little tailors shop and decides to go in and buy a new suit.

"Can I help you?" says the tailor

H replies, "Yes I'm feeing better than I have for years, I'd like a new outfit. The suit first, I take a 40" chest, 34" waist and a regular length jacket."

"No, I don't think so. You need a 42" chest or the jacket pulls, and a short length. As for the trousers, a 36" will fit better". says the tailor

The man disagrees "How do you know?2

The tailor answers, "Well, I've been in the business for 40 years, and you get to know these things."

The man tries on the clothes and they are perfect. "Fantastic, I'll have a shirt too 15" neck."

I think you'll find that a 16" will be better and won't be too tight and uncomfortable." The tailor replies.

Sure enough the shirt is a perfect fit and the man decides to get a whole outfit.

"While I'm here, I'll have some new underwear. Continental Briefs in a Medium"

"OH NO" the tailor gasps, "You need a large size"

The man asks "Why?"

The tailor responds, "If you wear too tight underwear, it presses against the base of the spine, causing a reflexive pain and blinding headaches!"

One from my mate Cliff Dixon:-

A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the pavement in front of her home.
Next to her was a basket containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS.

Suddenly a line of big cars pulled up beside her.
Out of the lead car stepped a grinning man.

“Hi there little girl, I’m the leader of the Labour Party, Ed Miliband.
What do you have in the basket?” he asked.

“Kittens,” little Suzy said.

“How old are they?” asked Miliband.

Suzy replied, “They’re so young, their eyes aren’t even open yet.”

“And what kind of kittens are they?”

“Labour supporters,” answered Suzy with a smile.

Miliband was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens.

Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two of them agreed that he should return the next day;
and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.

So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the pavement with her basket of “FREE KITTENS,” when another motorcade pulled up,
this time followed by vans from BBC, ITV, ABC, CNN and Sky News,

Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Miliband got out of his limo and walked over to little Suzy.

“Hello, again,” he said, “I’d love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you’re giving away.”

“Yes Sir,” Suzy said. “They’re UKIP supporters.”

Taken by surprise, Ed stammered, “But…but…yeste
rday, you told me they were LABOUR SUPPORTERS.”

Little Suzy smiled and said, “I know.

But today, they have their eyes open.”

HarrowKing.... once and for all please reveal your true identity.....or is that Jeremy Zeid is right in his assumptions of your many aliases?
Pravinshah 1....some people you have mentioned above in one of your posts have been under suspicion themselves for expenses? Also you may be a resident, but you run the Harrow council for justice website, upon which a lot of time appears to be spent bullying Susan Hall? That said it is not acceptable to accuse anyone, whether it is you or anyone else on here, of racism unless any of you have the facts/evidence to back it up?
Harrows PR machine would have called the paper asking them to take the £65,000 articles down? I can only assume, because they did not want the public to see just how some of our Cllrs really behave....shamefully

After all that is why there is a by election today! Oh well as usual speaks volumes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harrow Rani says...

You will not see any condemnation from anyone in the Labour Group regarding Councillor Gates. They think that by now, the voting public have forgotten the issue. In all honesty, voter apathy and voter amnesia will probably hand victory to the least deserving candidate but that is what I have come to expect in Harrow. A win is a win, by fair means or foul.. Given the mud sdlinging in the posts I have read from all Councillors this week, I no longer care who wins because it will not change the landscape of Harrow politics. So disappointing.

Starbright, you may not recall but I suggested to you some time ago on a previous post that you should consider standing for election. Did you give it any thought? You always appear to be passionate on issues that you comment on, and I believe we need an Independent candidate.who will not be dictated to by the Liebour or Con-dem Councillors.

I could not work with anyone who is corrupt, untrustworthy, and dishonest!

Hi starbright, SeaBee, Herrow Rani, jackdaw and other regulars

Had a very good day's campaigning. Bloomin' COLD though. Wouldn't be at all surprised that having started as the Male candidate, ending up as a Female one :-)

Regarding Brian Gate. I did refer to him and David Gawn in most of my literature, but didn't overdo it as there are also other issues such as Vaughan School, the Park, Roads etc that the others have STILL not addressed. Also by overdoing it, it looks like churlish point scoring.

The main parties have been really panicking as I think had they had the field to themselves would have run a far lower level campaign.

Something that may be of interest, the late Iain Mikardo, Labour MP for Bethnal Green and Bow, was my relative.

It's a good start for UKIP in the run-up to next years full Council Elections.

What has happened, is that I have met a lot of great people, had an enjoyable time and given UKIP a local profile.

I have found helpers, willing leaflet distributors and crucially, five new members.

Thanks to who supported me, I am just beginning here in Harrow and will keep in touch.
