Voters will go to the polls on Thursday to elect a new representative for the West Harrow ward.

The election will take place between 7am and 10pm and is being held to find a replacement for Brian Gate, who resigned after being placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register following a caution for possessing indecent images of children.

Contesting the seat are Herbert Crossman, an Independent, Green Party representative Rowan Langley, Conservative Julia Merison, Pash Nandhra, of the Liberal Democrats, Labour Party candidate Christine Robson and Jeremy Zeid, a member of the UK Independence Party.

There will be polling stations at St Peter’s Church, in Sumner Road, Grange Nursery and Infant School, in Welbeck Road, Elmfield Church, in Imperial Drive, and Rayners Lane Baptist Church Hall, in Imperial Drive.
