A film festival which started in Harrow celebrates its 15th anniversary and 100 years of Asian cinema next month.
Tongues on Fire is a ten day event showcasing South Asian films started by Pinner psychiatrist Dr Pushpinder Chowdhry.
The not-for-profit organisation, which is staffed entirely by volunteers, was originally founded as a women’s film festival in the borough but has spread across London.
This year will celebrate women both in front of the cameras and behind them.
It will also celebrate the first time an Asian film appeared on screen in 1913.
The event begins on March 7 at the British Film Institute on the Southbank in London.
Two films, Valley of Saints and Snow, will be screened at the Harrow Arts Centre for free on March 8 and 9, respectively.
