A Harrow man is to appear in court again today charged with possession of a blade in public after an incident outside Buckingham Palace on Sunday.

Talhat Rehman, 54, of Lindsay Drive, was arrested after being Tasered while holding a kitchen knife to his throat.

Yesterday morning he was charged with two counts of possessing a bladed weapon in public and one count of affray and he appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.

Following the hearing he was remanded in custody.

He will appear at the court again today for a medical report to be prepared.
