A Harrow councillor will be in Dudley Road on Monday to offer residents a method of marking property so it can be easily traced if stolen.

Councillor Simon Williams, Conservative councillor for Harrow-on-the-Hill, will be in Dudley Road from 5.30pm.

He will offer residents the SmartWater property marking system which allows items to be uniquely marked so they are easier to trace and harder to sell if stolen.

SmartWater consists of a liquid containing a code which can only be read under ultraviolet light.

Cllr Williams said: “Given SmartWater is so versatile it can be used on just about any type of material – even the lead on roofs.

“So, on Monday evening I’ll be in Dudley Road to arrange SmartWater deliveries for any residents there who would like it.

“I’ll also be joined by a police officer who will be able to provide advice on keeping property safe and secure.”

Why do we need a property marking system? I thought that the local Police had eliminated crime from Harrow.

Nothing new about the SmartWater - boring stuff.
How interesting that the Cllr who didn't bother to turn up at the last Council meeting to represent his residents turns up at the doorstep, most probably to gain cheap publicity. Come on Cllr Williams do something real, if you can!!

harrowKing - maybe you would prefer it if councillor Williams tried steal from residents like councillor Gawn did, since you also complained about him calling for councillor Gawn's resignation?

Mr Councillor, why don't you concentrate on bringing crime down, so we don't have to mark everything we own like dogs marking their territory.
