Students from a Harrow school have attended a morning of workshops and talks to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

The students from Sacred Heart Language College, in High Street, Wealdstone, visited Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue, in Green Lane, Northwood, this morning.

The pupils took part in workshops and then heard a talk by Holocaust survivor, Ann Kirk, who came to England on the Kindertransport in 1939.

The event was organised by Northwood United Synagogue and Northwood and Pinner Liberal Synagogue.

The synagogues are holding more than 30 similar sessions for students across north London in the next couple of weeks.

They will reach out to 2,300 students from 40 different schools.

Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on January 27 every year to mark the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
