A Kingsbury school is playing host to two Egyptian teachers this week.
As part of International Inspiration, London 2012’s official international sports legacy, Kingsbury High School is hosting the teachers from its partner school, the El Tabary School in Cairo.
Staff and students at the Bacon Lane school welcomed Mahmoud Ibrahim Fahim Hassan, headteacher of the El Tabary School, and PE teacher Magdy Fathy Hamed Ebrahem by waving flags outside the school.
While they are in Harrow the Egyptian teachers will be involved in activities including primary school sports festivals, cricket, archery and gymnastics.
Mr Mahmoud Ibrahim Fahim Hassan said “We hope to learn from Kingsbury High School and take our experiences back for our students to benefit from.”
Assistant headteacher of Kingsbury High School, Matthew Price, who visited the El Tabary School in November, said “We are really excited about this project as we hope to gain even closer links to the school, through sport, over the next three years.”
International Inspiration encourages schoolchildren and teachers in the UK to learn about other cultures and to exchange knowledge with other countries.
The programme is delivered around the world by a partnership of organisations including the British Council, UNICEF and UK Sport.
