Harrow Borough Council launches new scheme to help people clear up their neighbourhood
2:21pm Friday 25th January 2013 in News By Emma Innes
Harrow Borough Council has launched a new scheme to help people clear up their neighbourhoods.
The Street Refresh scheme provides people with a box containing gloves, litter pickers, graffiti wipes and litter bags.
To get involved all participants have to do is decide what they would like to focus on and then let they council know so it can decide how best to support them.
Harrow’s portfolio holder for environment and community safety, Councillor Phil O’Dell, said: “I urge as many residents as possible to sign up to Street Refresh and make a real difference to your local community.
“We are proud that Harrow is among the very cleanest, greenest, and safest boroughs in London.
“We know many residents want to be more involved in getting their local neighbourhoods clean and this project is about empowering people to do just that.”
