An Olympic sprinter visited a Harrow school this morning to help it raise money for PE lessons.

Laura Turner, who represented Great Britain in the 2008 Olympics, visited Weald Middle School in Robin Hood Drive.

She encouraged the students to gather sponsorship to take part in a fitness challenge that she ran at the school.

Students participated in a ‘fitness circuit’, in which they had to run around and carry out a range of different activities and exercises.

The sponsorship money will now be collected and used by the school to fund PE lessons and equipment.

The event was organised by Sports 4 All, an organisation which aims to inspire all children to get involved in sport.

During the past two years it has helped schools raise almost £200,000.
