A Stanmore care home is celebrating after receiving its inspection results.

The Harrow Borough Council-run Gordon Avenue Care Home was given an unannounced inspection by the Care Quality Commission in November.

It was found to be very good in all aspects of care including the quality of the environment, the quality of staffing and the quality of management.

Portfolio holder for adult social care, Councillor Margaret Davine, said: “Our staff work hard to ensure that all residents feel safe and happy and we try to tailor services to meet residents’ needs, helping them to remain as independent as possible while also feeling able to ask for help when they need it.

“It is good to see our care homes praised by the CQC and I am confident we will keep building on our successful track record.”

Unit manager Victoria Adebiyi added: “The team is delighted with our latest CQC report.  The report reflects the hard work of the team in collaboration with our residents and family representatives to ensure better outcomes for our service users.

“We are committed to continued improvement in outcomes for those who live at Gordon Avenue.”
