Brent Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary that took place on January 1.

The offence took place at 3.30pm in Ealing Road, Wembley.

A 73-year-old man was at home when he heard someone at the front door.

He answered to a man claiming to have been sent by the landlord to carry out repairs.

The man then inspected every room before leaving the property.

Once he had left the victim realised that someone else had entered the flat and stolen some of his property while he was distracted.

The suspect is described as white, 30 to 40 years old and wearing black clothes and black leather shoes.

Police Constable Louise Whittaker from Brent Police said: “I would urge members of the public to come forward if they saw anyone acting suspiciously in Ealing Road.
