Bob Blackman has criticised the proposed council tax increase
Harrow East MP Bob Blackman criticised the borough's council for raising its share of council tax on the national television yesterday.
Mr Blackman was asked about Harrow Borough Council's proposed two per cent council tax rise on the BBC’s Sunday Politics Show.
He claimed the authority is one of only two in London planning to increase the tax in April.
Mr Blackman criticised the increase, arguing that all across London council’s have identified savings without cuts to frontline services and without the need to increase taxation, adding that from April Harrow residents will be paying the third highest council taxes in London.
Harrow Borough Council will vote on the proposed council tax increase at a meeting on February 28.
