This year the tube is celebrating its 150th birthday and the Harrow Times has photos of some of the borough’s oldest stations.
The photographs, which come from the London Transport Museum's archives, show Harrow-on-the-Hill station in August 1948, Stanmore station in July 1933, Queensbury station in August 1956 and Kingsbury station in August 1933.
The first-ever underground railway journey took place on January 9, 1863, on the Metropolitan line.
The steam-powered train travelled on the line between Paddington and Farringdon, which is now part of the Hammersmith and City line.
This journey was recreated on Sunday and will be completed by the steam train again on January 20.
