4:00pm Thursday 10th January 2013 in News By Emma Innes
Singers at a Harrow school are warming up their vocal cords for a BBC concert in June.
The choir of Salvatorian College in High Road, Harrow Weald, is among school choirs taking part in the BBC's Go Sing project.
Along with the BBC’s professional choir, the BBC Singers, 300 Harrow primary school singers and 300 secondary school singers will put on a concert at The Roundhouse, in Camden, on June 20.
An audience of more than 1,000 people will be treated to performances by the BBC Singers as well as to new choral work written specially for the Harrow choirs.
The senior school pupils, including 28 boys from Salvatorian College, will perform The Elements, a new piece by Grace Rossiter and Stephen Jeffes.
In the build up to the concert the schools are working together to rehearse with the help of mentors from the BBC Singers.
