Deadline looms for primary school place applications in Harrow
8:50am Tuesday 8th January 2013 in News By Emma Innes
Parents have just one week left to apply for a primary school place for their child this September.
Harrow Borough Council is reminding parents that if they have children due to start school in the borough this September they must apply by Tuesday January 15.
All Harrow families must apply to Harrow Borough Council regardless of whether the school they wish their children to attend is in the borough or not.
All offers of places for people who apply on time will be made on April 17.
Due to high demand, the council is embarking on a £26.2 million expansion programme which will create an extra 326 new reception places in the next five years.
Councillor Mitzi Green, Harrow Council's portfolio holder for children, schools and families: said: “The success of our schools means that demand is always high.
“I would strongly advise anyone with a child due to start at one of Harrow's schools to get their application in on time.
“We want to ensure parents have every chance to get their child into their preferred school.”
